So Cute, But So… Small?

I was browsing Pinterest the other day and I came across this cool-looking photograph.

At first, I thought it was a scaled-down model of some city I don’t know of, but upon closer inspection, I realised that it actually wasn’t! After a bit of research and some digging around the internet, I came to know about this nifty photography trick called Miniature Faking, or Tilt-Shift photography.

Tilt-shift photography is a clever technique in making life-sized locations or objects look like a photograph of a miniature scale model. This technique makes use of blurring parts of the photo, preferably by using Photoshop, to simulate the shallow depth of field. Thus, making the photograph more interesting to look at.
