We are humans. We were all born with a purpose in our lifetime. Nobody wants to die with regrets right?
Surely you don’t want to sit around wasting your time on meaningless things right? And I’m pretty sure you don’t wanna wake up in the morning feeling empty and hollow inside, constantly questioning yourself why on Earth you’re still alive each day. It is without a doubt, that in order to live, you need that energy to spur you to keep on going.
Time is something that moves in fits and starts, either dissipating like mist or like the slow, dragging of chains. When you have nothing to live for, even watching an hour of Youtube videos feel like spending 5 years aimlessly drifting at sea, never a harbour in sight.
The question remains: How do you find your passion? If you already have one, time must flow fast for you and you’re doing whatever it takes to live every moment of your life to the fullest. But if you don’t have one or have lost that spark you once had, please read on.
The first and most important thing: Try everything. Don’t ever think that you have something to lose. Be brave and overcome your limits and boundaries.
Try to do something by yourself. Don’t cling on friends and family for help and learn to adapt to loneliness. A lot of times, it’s only when you lose everything, then you learn to be grateful for everything you have. Only then will you find yourself reflecting on what you did wrong and you’ll learn to find something that can make you happy.
On a side note: Don’t think that only your boyfriend or girlfriend can make you complete. They are just supplements to make your life more interesting. When you lose your spouse and you’re not wasting your time crying every single day about him or her, you’re most likely a happy person. If you wake up feeling morose and down because of one person, then please, embark on a journey to find your passion. Having a passion is like falling in love. Try it and you’ll know that feeling of bliss.
Be persistent. Stick to your principles and don’t let others decide for you. If you find yourself chopping and changing, learn to respect your own opinion. There is no definite right or wrong in life. You have your own self worth, so don’t change your mindset just because someone told you to. Mould your own characteristics and personality by doing everything you love.
Don’t wait for love. Like I said earlier, having a passion is like falling in love. If you crave love, try loving yourself and you’ll know what true love feels like. Remember that you don’t need others to make you feel good about yourself. Even if they make you feel “loved”, most of the time it’s just fake confidence. Once they leave you for good, you’ll crumble for sure.
My final advice to you: Nothing is easy from the start, that’s for sure. Try to stick to something you love and it’ll slowly become your passion.
“Love the life you live, and live the life you love.”
